Robotics Saves The Ocean
Our project

Create a marine friendly environment

We are working on our First Lego League competition for Robotics class at Jack Jouett Middle School.  The competition is a judged performance.  We are using a robot that we made out of Legos and it is programed to navigate around an ocean-themed obstacle course.  One of our tasks is to research and activity that takes place in the ocean and how it is bad for the ocean.  We also have to research an alternative for it that will make it safer for the ocean and that will make to ocean a cleaner place.

We choose to think about Diesel and how it could be replaced by Biodiesel in not only cars but boats also.  Biodiesel has already been used in some boats but it has not been made a reasonable change.  It pollutes less but it is not cost effective.  We are researching ways biodiesel can become more cost effective.  We had interviews with various important personell that were involved in helping UVa switch their buses to 20% biodiesel in the fuel mixture.  We hope you like our site.

How can biodiesel become more cost effective and be used in boats?
